Matthias Meilland - Meilland Roses - Six Generations of Roses
We so much enjoyed the opportunity to sit down and chat with Matthias Meilland this week. This chat includes a brief history of six generations of rose breeding in France by the Meilland family including the story of his grandfather's famous rose "Peace" and how his friends at Conard-Pyle (now Star Roses & Plants) played an instrumental role in introducing this rose to the world. Mr. Meilland also shared some insights into the latest trends emerging in the rose world and offered some great information on the upcoming World Federation of Roses Convention held this year in Lyon France.
