Cemetery Rose - Sacramento City Cemetery with Anita Clevenger

Adorned with beautiful statues, dramatic markers and lush gardens, the Sacramento Historic City Cemetery is an outdoor museum recording California history from the Gold Rush Era through today and is the home of the Sacramento Historic Rose Garden at the Cemetery. Anita Clevenger, Curator of the rose garden joins us to chat about the history of the garden, the wonderful collection of roses that grows there and she shared information on their upcoming Open Garden Day where rose lovers from around the globe come to tour the garden and have an opportunity to purchase on-site some of rare roses that are growing in the cemetery. National Volunteer Week - Herb Grasshof - San Jose Municipal Rose Garden

This week Herb Grasshof volunteer extrodinare at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden joins us to talk about his work at the garden and also how they recruit and train volunteers for projects at the garden. Herb has given over 1,300 hours of volunteer service working in this garden. We'll also be chatting about the roses planted there.
